Try recompiling SPM mex files - there has been a similar question &
answers a few days ago. There may be other incompatibilities between SPM5
and Matlab 7.3, which are still undetected. SPM5 has been written for
Matlab 6.5 and tested/adapted up to Matlab 7.1 (aka R14SP3), which should
run on any recent 64-bit Linux without any problems. Matlab R2006a/b again
introduced quite a lot of incompatible changes in behaviour of functions,
which may or may not have side effects on SPM.
