Hi Alan
thank you so much for this piece. Who is the poet?
There was, recently, an essay/speech published in imprimis, a publication of
hillsdale college, by the producer of several feature films based on serious
children's literature. His point was that we start at very young ages to
think about the practical and encourage students to focus on the rationale
that they have little or no time for fantasy and fictional literature, even
with a message. We are concerned with the amount of time spent in fantasy
games on the Internet, also.
We are limiting "play" from our lives and the lives of our children and even
ourselves, particularly that which might be considered as literature.
A beautiful piece
