Salary will be on ether the Senior Lecturer scale, in the range £40,244 - £45,617 plus £2,323 London Allowance or, on the Institute's professorial salary scale at a level commensurate with the academic standing of the appointee plus £2,323 London Allowance per annum

As part of the Institute of Education's strategic commitment to strengthening its capacity in statistics as a core discipline, an important senior post has been created in the Centre for Longitudinal Studies at the Institute.
You will lead, advise on and collaborate on research in applied statistical methodology supporting the research design, collection, and / or analysis, of major projects based on the three world-renowned British Birth Cohort studies housed in Centre for Longitudinal Studies, and associated administratively linked datasets. You will participate in the multidisciplinary quantitative research conducted across the centres of the Bedford Group. You will contribute to and advise on research training in statistics across the Institute. The appointment will be made at a level from Senior Lecturer upwards to reflect the experience, qualifications and research track record of the successful candidate.
You should have a national or international reputation for published scholarly research, as well as proven expertise in research, leadership and excellence in statistics or econometrics applied to empirical issues. A record of attracting and managing external research funding is also essential for appointment at either of the two higher levels.
