LEARNING TECHNOLOGIST (SYSTEMS INTEGRATION)

The University’s Virtual Learning Environment is a key part of University
systems. Working as part of a flexible team responsible for supporting the
VLE service, this important role involves the development, testing and
implementation of software to support the integration between the
University’s information systems and the VLE.
You will have experience of designing and implementing software routines
based on SQL, XML and Perl, through the full development lifecycle. You
will have a Degree in a numerate or IT related subject and will also have
experience of contributing to the planning and implementation of software
within a large establishment, which forms part of a wide-scale, critical,
service.
Working within a small friendly team, you will have the opportunity to
design and build programs, both individually and through liaison with
larger project teams, and to see them put to worthwhile use. This role
requires the ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative and will
involve working across a variety of cross-disciplinary teams.
