Bob Turner has asked me to forward this to the list, which I am most happy to do...

The Max-Planck-Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in
Leipzig is dedicated to research on cognitive faculties and brain
processes in humans. The Department of Neurophysics offers a
*Research Scientist position
for 5 years (renewable).*
The scientist will become a senior member of a team headed by Professor
Robert Turner, developing MRI techniques for studying the structural and
functional anatomy of the human cerebral cortex. Techniques will include
MR microscopy, tractography, BOLD fMRI, and CBV-weighted fMRI. Phased
array and parallel imaging methods will be used, and novel methods for
dealing with head motion will be developed. The main research focus is a
new Siemens 7 T fully equipped whole-body scanner. The Institute's
resources already include two whole-body 3 T scanners, with a full
programme of ongoing MRI and fMRI research.
The ideal candidate has a university degree in Physics and a PhD in MRI
science, with experience in MR pulse sequence programming. A strong
interest in the application of MRI techniques to neuroscience questions
would be an advantage. Payment is based on TVöD depending on the
qualifications of the applicant.
For further details please contact Professor Robert Turner by email at
