I would be grateful if I could get some advice on a retention issue.
We have tenant representatives who volunteer to represent an area they
live in. If more than one person volunteers the rep is elected by the
residents of the area. Initially tenant representatives attended area
housing forums. Since then, the role has expanded and reps have become
more involved in projects and policy.
I've checked the RMS local gov retention policy and the classification
scheme and the closest entry I can find is for elected members. It states
Voting - 6 months from close of poll
Declaration of results - 6 months from data of election
However, as their role is expanding I wondered whether it would be better
to treat their appointment more like recruitment of staff, which is
destroy 1 year after recruitment has been finalised.
I wondered if anyone could think of a reason to keep info about the
selection and appointment of these volunteers longer?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
