Dan,
A couple of things about DOD 5015.2: It was designed to meet legal
requirements for the admissibility of records in courts of the USA, not
to be a comprehensive RIM standard. It will be four years old in June,
and the legal environment has been anything but static in the interval.
I think Microsoft wants to be "certified" as meeting the requirements of
the standard (Meaning DOD says so.) as opposed to "compliant" (MS says
so.) MS has a sixty-odd page paper on their website, "Compliance
Features of Microsoft Office 2007". By the way, a quick look over of the
paper did not reveal any mention of ISO 15489
Otherwise, I have heard the same sort of thing as you mention about this
product from people who have done a lot more investigation of it than
time has permitted me to do. One thing to look for is an emphasis on
"retention management" where the power to declare and carry out a range
of disposition actions is somewhat casually held.
Personally, I am looking forward to MoReq2 as a measuring stick for
these applications, though it will be a while.
Cheers,
Tom

Subject: Re: MS SharePoint 2007 - EDRMS Solution?
Hi all
This may help.
Microsoft have told us that the current release of SharePoint 07 is not
fully robust in terms of Records Management, however they are releasing
a
service pack in [April?] to address the gaps and make it compliant to
the
US Records Management Standard ("Department of Defense").
Regards
Dan
