Dear all,
As you know, I am one of the consultants for a European Commission
project called the European Network for Contemporary Academic Research
on India (ENCARI). The project was launched in 2006 by the European
Commission to foster closer cooperation between European research
institutions and researchers within the field of contemporary India
studies. The network will also provide an opportunity and forum for
India experts within Europe to pool and exchange information and
resources with each other and EU policy-making officials. Details about
the network can be obtained from the website: www.encari.eu.
The project is entering its second phase and is moving quite fast. For
this reason, there are quite a few new developments, research
initiatives, and projects that will be of great interest to those of you
who work on contemporary India issues. If you have not done so already,
I strongly urge to join the ENCARI network as soon as possible. The
process for joining the ENCARI network is easy and free. You may do so
as an individual member, just fill out the form at
www.encari.eu/membership.htm. Alternatively, your university or
institution may join collaboratively, the form for joining in this
manner is available at www.encari.eu/inst_membership.htm. Most of the
vital information from the European Commission will be communicated
directly to members of the network. Unfortunately, you can only join
the network if you are based in one of the EU member states.
If you have any questions about ENCARI, please let me know.
Lawrence
