Dear Sue,

Have you considered the BBC's WWII People's War online archive
(http://www.bbc.co.uk/ww2peopleswar/).  I stumbled across it as my
grandfather had put his memories into words and there is a wealth of
personal accounts available.  Unfortunately as far as I can tell the BBC
 don't appear to have audio clips at present, but I don't see why they
couldn't make the option available if you are interested, it certainly
sounds very interesting.
