Dear List,
I understand why, from a personal health point of view, people are not too keen on 'cold' screening. Is this not, however, to see the screening as diagnostic rather than screening? Surely assessing general levels of health in a population and identifying potential resource demands in order to develop policy and procure resources both make screening a very useful public health tool? Furthermore, who are we to insist on a professionalised model of health where all knowledge is held by only those deemed to be worthy?
