The 'Topic Format' avoids dates but even if you choose date format you
only need to change the 'course start date' setting once a year.
You may also need to move some boxes up and down to reflect differing
term lengths but this effort is worth it for some students who need the
extra support of a date to help them focus on the work in hand.

Moodle seems to organise everything in date order.
This is useful for some things but what about resources that remain the
same for year after year?
I'd like to set up an Electronics class and upload resources that don't
change from one year to the next. Am I missing something obvious?
