The University of Durham wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Chemistry and
Physics from 1 September 2007. This is a new post, intended to build on
the strong interactions between the Physics and Chemistry Departments in
the area of Cold Atoms and Molecules. The successful candidate will be
expected to conduct world-leading experimental research in molecular or
chemical physics and will engage in a full range of teaching in subjects
at the interface between Physics and Chemistry. The post will be
associated with the recently funded IQ3 institute (Institute for Quantum
Control, Quantum Computing and Quantum Optics): see

the area of cold atoms and molecules include Charles Adams, Ifan Hughes,
Simon Cornish, Simon Gardiner, Jeremy Hutson and Eckart Wrede.
Durham is a small historic city in the north-east of England, based
around Palace Green, a UNESCO World Heritage site that includes Durham's
Norman Cathedral and Castle.
