Dear all,
the Media, Information and Communications area at London Metropolitan
University are seeking visiting lecturers to deliver the following
undergraduate modules for us this semester:
Cyberspace, Technoculture and Virtual Futures - Thursday mornings
The module will deal with a range of subject matter related to aspects of
technoculture, cyberspace and virtual futures. It will situate the
emergence of these phenomena within a historical and cultural context. It
will pay particular attention to the ethical debates surrounding the
emergence of digital media. In doing so it will establish links between
theory, methods and applications of virtual technologies.
Multimedia Installation - Wednesday mornings
This module introduces students to examples of multimedia installations,
multimedia performance art, and research in human machine interaction.
Current technologies that allow for interaction in installation art will be
introduced. Students will experiment with sensors and other input devices,
and write an essay investigating an aspect of current multimedia
installation art. They will compose a detailed project proposal including
experimental practical work.
