LocHist and Scotarch
Good Morning!
A volunteer for Dundee City Archives has hit a liquid measure in a shipping
dues entry for the bark JAMES of Aberdour [Fife] entering Dundee Jan 1706
with coal, lintseed and "oyle" of "4 half cardeales" (could also be read as
"cordeales").
Has anyone come across this liquid measure and do they have any idea of the
volume, however approximate?
Thanks
Iain Flett
