Hello All,
We are moving one of our site Libraries to a new facility in a few months time and it will be necessary for us to reduce stock numbers considerably as the new space is smaller. We will need to split the existing stock into 3 categories:
- Essential key resources
- Resources to go into secure storage (i.e. not accessible for approximately 1 year)
- Resources for withdrawal.
Arguably, not much of the stock we have is ripe for withdrawal, otherwise it would already have been withdrawn!...but unfortunately we may need to be ruthless.
Enquiries made thus far have revealed that a lot of stock is used on site (without being borrowed) so usage statistics are not necessarily a reliable tool.
If anyone out there has undertaken a similar project, or can offer advice on how to set criteria to weed the stock / manage the stages of the move, I would be very pleased to hear from you.
Thank you,
Suzanne Higham
