An alternative approach is to accept that if the work that someone wants
to buy is not actually specified in reasonable time, or is not
reasonably possible, one doesn't incur costs by just not doing it, and
there are surely plenty of things which we can do which are useful,
profitable, or occasionally both.
EGFR is easy to calculate if you can get at the data - and we have of
course been in a better position to actually produce accurate values
than the lab for some years, since we have the patient's mass recorded.
I think it is a cockup, but they are multiplying, and notice has been
taken that they cause avoidable harm.
