The September 2007 edition of Refugee Survey Quarterly will be a special
edition on 'Researching Refugees'. It will include articles around the
following three themes:
A. Historical Overview of Refugee Studies - evolution of research into
refugee issues and the field of refugee studies, the historical,
intellectual and theoretical foundations and roots in other areas of research;
B. Methodological and Ethical Aspects of Refugee Research - the process of
research with refugees and the particular methodological and ethical issues
which it raises;
C. New Approaches to Refugee Research - innovative ways forward for research
with refugees, strengthening the theoretical basis for refugee studies,
building new connections into other intellectual currents.
As Guest Editors of this edition, we would like to invite authors to submit
papers around these themes for publication. The final article should be
between 5,000-8,000 words. It should be original work that has not been
published or accepted for publication elsewhere.
Authors are invited to submit an abstract of up to 400 words by 28th
February 2007. They will be advised if their paper will be included by 14th
March. If accepted, final manuscripts will need to be submitted by 11th May
2007.
