Research Studentship - University of Loughborough
School of Sport & Exercise Sciences
Applications are invited for full-time PhD Research Studentship starting 1st July or 1st October 2007. The successful candidates will join an established research team and School.
Candidates will normally be expected to hold either a 2:1 or First class honours degree, or a Masters degree in a relevant discipline.
The studentships include a standard maintenance allowance (£10,500 per annum for 2006/07) and UK/EU tuition fees.
Severely impaired athletes within the Paralympic movement
You will have a background in the social sciences or humanities and a desire to explore in a comprehensive manner the patterns of participation for severely impaired athletes throughout the history of the Paralympic movement. This study will utilise archival material held by governing bodies within sport for the disabled and therefore familiarity with archival research with be an asset. Ability and/ or a desire to engage in a series of in-depth interviews with key individuals within the Paralympic movement will also be required.
