EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) : Information event on the first
call for proposals
24 January 2007 Brussels, BelgiumCandidate proposers will get
first-hand information on three FET Proactive Initiatives launched in
FP7-Call 1, namely "Nano-scale ICT devices and systems", "Pervasive
Adaptation" and "Bio-ICT Convergence", in three parallel sessions in the
afternoon. A morning plenary session covers the new legal and
administrative modalities, and details experiences of coordinators of
various types of contracts.
Participation to the event is free but prior online registration is
required.

e-Infrastructures : Information event on the first call for
proposals
6 February 2007 Brussels, BelgiumThe event will give information on the
four topics of the first call in the area of e-Infrastructures,
submission and evaluation of proposals, as well as funding schemes. It
will also provide an opportunity for the proposers to meet and share
their project ideas during the networking part of the event.

ENGAGE Thailand 2007: European Union - Southeast Asia ICT
Research Networking Event
29 January 2007 - 31 January 2007 Bangkok, ThailandThis is the third in
a series of collaboration conferences organised by ENGAGE, a Specific
Support Action funded by the European Commission in the framework of the
IST research programme.The event aims to bring together Southeast Asian
and European policy makers, as well as researchers from academia and
industry in order to establish new partnerships and promote
opportunities for joint research initiatives in the ICT sector. The
technical themes of the event will be focused on eight priority areas
identified for the first Call of the new Framework Seven IST Programme,
as well as on national and regional research priorities in the
Information Technology area. The conference will be complemented by a
workshop on the IST work programme and funding opportunities in FP7.
European participants in IST framework projects are invited to present
their running actions and project ideas for future EU-Southeast Asia
cooperation in FP7. !

been monitoring the use of ICT in more than 20 sectors of the EU

studies of 2006. Presentations and the discussion will focus on
implications of the observed trends and developments for firms,
industries and policy, against the background of the renewed Lisbon
objectives and the new industrial policy. The event addresses industry
representatives, policy officials, business support organisations and
consultants, and researchers from economic and ICT-related fields.
