  *VACANT POSITION*

The European Forum for Restorative Justice is looking for a project 
manager to help to implement the European Commission funded project 
‘Developing standards for assistance to victims of terrorism’.

*Short job description: *

Main duties: to undertake the literature review on what restorative 
justice principles and practices have to offer in respect of victim 
needs in the aftermath of terrorist events; to help organise and 
co-ordinate public events, seminars, conferences with a European 
dimension to develop the spirit of solidarity with regard to victims 
together with the partners in the project and to write the subsequent 
report; to develop links with agencies who are collaborating in the 
project; to provide information about the part of the project concerning 
restorative justice principles and practices to relevant stakeholders; 
to disseminate the results of the part of the project regarding 
restorative justice principles and practices in a literature review.

*Working language:* English.

*Required background: *University degree (licentiate or Master) in 
social sciences with knowledge of restorative justice principles and 
victimology. Preferably 5 years of research experience.

* *

*Start and end date of the contract: *1 March 2007 – 30 June 2008.

*Contract: *In principle 100% of a full-time equivalent (i.e. 38 hours 
per week). However, this is subject to the final approval of the budget 
by the European Commission (expected shortly). A maximum of 5 years of 
research experience can be taken into account.

*Position: *Associate academic staff

*Location: *The post is based in the Department of Criminology in the 
University of Leuven (Belgium). The employer will be the University of 
Leuven.

(2) Visiting Fellowship Criminology, University Oxford, UK
The Centre for Criminology at the University of Oxford invites 
applications for visiting fellowships from active research scholars who 
wish to participate in the intellectual life of the Centre.
Applications are welcome from scholars in any field of criminology, 
although preference may be given to applicants whose research is related 
to the research programmes of the Centre. Details of these can be found

Visiting Fellows are given a workspace and related facilities in the 
Centre, but there is no financial or administrative support associated 
with this position. Visiting Fellows are required to present at least 
one seminar on their research.

Application is by letter, curriculum vitae, and statement of proposed

The deadline for applications is 1st March 2007 for the period October

fellowships which could be held in conjunction with the Centre’s 
visiting fellowship and offer additional benefits. Details can typically
