To all chat list-members,
You may recall that for the last couple of years a number of us have been
having regular small, informal meetings to discuss contemporary
archaeology (between one year's CHAT conference and the next). The
meetings have attracted those based in professional archaeology and higher
education alike, and over the last two years have given rise to a number
of new collaborations, conference sessions and papers. They are informal
and have no agenda - discussion is driven entirely by participants.
A lot of people at the CHAT conference in November asked me for details,
so we have decided to change the format to get more people involved. Get-
togethers will now take place alternately in Bristol and London. Hopefully
the two locations will give more people the chance to get involved, and
meeting every 2 months (in each location) will work with people's busy
schedules!
The first meeting will be in Bristol on Weds 31 Jan from 6:30pm (location
tba) run by myself and John Schofield (English Heritage/University of
Bristol), and the next at the George on Borough High Street in London
(SE1) towards the end of February run by myself and Sefryn Penrose (Atkins
Heritage).
Full details nearer the time - please get in touch if you are thinking of
coming along - email [log in to unmask]
