Joint 11th European Software Engineering Conference and 15th ACM SIGSOFT
Symposium on the Foundations of Software Engineering
ESEC/FSE 2007
Dubrovnik, Croatia, September 3-7,2007
http://www.idt.mdh.se/esec-fse-2007
====================================================================
The biennial series of joint ESEC and FSE provides a lively and outstanding
forum where researchers and practitioners can report and discuss recent
research results and trends, as well as their impact on practical
application in all areas of software engineering.
ESEC/FSE has continuously attracted participants from industry and academia,
confirming that the venue provides topics that are up-to-date, significant,
and interesting. ESEC/FSE 2007 intends to continue this tradition by
offering a strong technical program associated with an exciting list of
events, including keynote talks by leaders in the field, invited
state-of-the-art seminars, workshops, a doctoral symposium, and the new
Widened Software Engineering (WISE) presentations.
Important submission dates
Workshop proposals: March 5, 2007
Technical papers: March 19, 2007
WISE papers: April 3, 2007
Doctoral Symposium abstracts: May 14, 2007
Contributions to the above events on any field of Software Engineering are
invited, including, but not limited to:
- Requirements Engineering - Component-based SW Engineering
- Specification and Verification - Model Driven Engineering
- Software Architecture and Design - Web Applications
- Distributed Systems and Middleware - Analysis and Testing
- Dev. Paradigms and Sw Processes - Service Oriented Applications
- Open Standards and Certification - Tools and Environments
- Empirical Software Engineering - Software Metrics
- Sw economics and Human Resources - Evolution and Refactoring
- Software Quality and Performance - Mobile and Embedded System
- CaseStudies and Experience Reports
- Dependability (safety, security, reliability)
The following types of contributions are sought:
Technical Papers: must present results of theoretical or empirical research,
clearly identifying their contribution to the state of the art and/or their
potential usefulness for industry. Experience papers which report
interesting "lessons learned" of benefit to the broad ESEC/FSE audience are
also welcome. All submissions must be original work, and must not have been
previously published, nor be in consideration for publication, elsewhere.
WISE Papers: The new Widened Software Engineering (WISE) track is explicitly
aimed at broadening the internationality of the ESEC/FSE conference by
dealing with SE research specializations outside the established community.
WISE papers should address particular interests, goals and challenges faced
by academic and industrial researchers in the field of SE in countries which
are not usually present in ESEC/FSE and akin events.
Workshop proposals: Workshops of one or two days are intended to provide a
forum for members of a focused research community to present preliminary
research results and discuss position-style papers.
Workshops provide an opprotunity for the rapid dissemination of ongoing
research activities.
Doctoral Symposium abstracts: PhD students working in the area of software
engineering can present and discuss their research with senior researchers
of the Software Engineering community.
