Dear list
An opportunity exists for the right person to join a vibrant and active
research group studying Biophysical Aspects of Photodynamic Therapy.
This is a PhD project based jointly at the prestigious University of St
Andrews and Ninewells Hospital & Medical School in Dundee in Scotland.
The project combines theoretical Monte Carlo simulation, practical
optical radiation measurement, and clinical development of treatment
procedures.
Founded in 1413, St Andrews is the oldest University in Scotland. Owing
to the size of St Andrews, students feel they belong here and enjoy the
benefits of studying at a highly residential University where academic
and social lives intermingle. The PDT Centre in Ninewells Hospital has
conducted over 3,500 treatments making it one of the most active PDT
groups in the United Kingdom.
A strong background in the physical sciences will be required.
This is a follow-up to an earlier announcement posted on the mailbase.
We are pleased to say that details are now presented on the University
website http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/physics/
Click on "PhDs" in the Information panel and this is the second project
listed.
Those who responded to the earlier announcement, as well as anyone who
may be interested, are invited to contact [log in to unmask]
Supervisors are asked to bring this to the attention of their
students.
