Dear All,
We are hoping to start an oral history project, mainly recording the
memories of rretired botanists and gardeners who spent most of their
working life here at Kew. The aim is to conduct a 30mn interview with
set questions given to them in advance, and using a semi-professional
camera with sound recording. The end result will be a DVD which
hopefully we will be able to convert onto CDs as well as having a
written transcript.
I would like to hear from others who have conducted similar projects
and what methods they used to promote their oral history collection(s)
and what kind of people, either internal or external used these sources.
We are hoping to widen it into a community wide project recording
memories of people in the Kew and Wakehurst area as well.
Your input would be very useful and I will summarise to the list if
there's a demand for it.
Thanks
Michele
