From 8th January 2007 applications are being invited for the 2007/8 Clore
Leadership Programme, and for the fourth year running the MLA is sponsoring
a place specifically designated for a member of the archives profession.
The programme can be taken over one or two years and consists of a
secondment, a research project and access to a range of training and
mentoring opportunities. Funding is available in the form of a bursary to
Clore fellows who take a career break to do the programme or via a payment
to your employer to fund cover if you choose to remain employed and take a
sabbatical.
The Clore programme offers an incredible opportunity to further your
career, find out more about the wider cultural sector and develop a range
of transferable skills. Put simply, it is probably the closest you will
come to a year out, generously funded, to focus on your professional
development and explore your interests. Whether you want to do your
existing job better, aim for a promotion or broaden your horizons outside
archives the fellowship should equip you with the skills and confidence you
need. It is also a great opportunity to promote archive services and
professions to those outside the sector, both the participants in the
programme and speakers, teachers and mentors. We encourage you all to grasp
this opportunity and make an application, helping your own development and
helping the sector to show that we are a forward looking and progressive
profession
So if you can see yourself as the Clore Archives Fellow 2007/8, take a look
