IRTA - Sant Carles de la Rápita (Catalonia, Spain), through Programa 
INIA,  announces 1 opening for a researcher to be incorporated in the 
bivalve research group (Position nº42: Producción de bivalvos). PhD is 
required and previous experience in the field of bivalve aquaculture are 
required.

IRTA offers 5 years of contract and possibility of becoming permanent. 
Salary can reach 30.000 euro/year, accordingto previous experience.

The aquaculture centre of IRTA is located in Sant Carles de la Rapita, 
~200 km south of Barcelona, in an important aquaculture area. The 
principal research areas are:
- Larval cultivation of marine species (fishes, bivalve mollusc, 
crustaceans).
- Control of marine species reproduction (fishes, bivalve mollusc, 
crustaceans).
- Optimization of nutritional and environmental conditions.
- Study of Octopus sp ongrowing.
- Control of culture of bivalve molluscs.
- Improvement of water recirculation systems.
- Study of pathologies (fishes, bivalve molluscs).
- New technologies for the cryopreservation of eggs and embryos. 
Molecular channels.
- Control of toxins in fish.
