STATISTICIAN
Established 58 years ago, the Medical Research Council Laboratories in The
Gambia represents the UK’s major public investment in medical research in
developing countries and has established an international reputation for
research on malaria, viral and bacterial diseases. The overall goal of the
Unit is to improve the health of people in developing countries by aiming
for excellence in research, healthcare and training. We are interested in
receiving applications from candidates with a postgraduate qualification in
statistics, with solid relevant work experience, to join a group of
Statisticians working on clinical
trials, epidemiological studies, community-based interventions and studies
of basic biomedical science. You will have practical experience working as a
medical statistician, considerable experience of data analysis and database
management, familiarity with epidemiological methods, an interest in health
in developing countries and excellent communication skills. This is an
exciting and challenging opportunity in one of the foremost medical research
institutions in a developing country.
This is a three year fixed-term appointment (extendable by mutual agreement)
at MRC’s Bands 3/4 with a salary range of £24,746-£42,754 per annum
dependent on qualifications and experience. For displaced staff the package
