SENIOR SAS STATISTICAL PROGRAMMER

Academic-Related Grade 8: Salary £32,471-£38772 p.a.
The Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU) is one of the world's leading centres for research into the causes, prevention and treatment of chronic diseases (such as heart disease and cancer). The large randomised trials and epidemiological studies often include collection of blood samples, allowing the measurement of phenotypes, such as blood lipids, and of genotypes. These studies represent powerful resources with which to explore in detail known important risk factors and to assess new potential factors.
A senior SAS statistical programmer is required to continue the design and development of a well-structured system for SAS analysis programs and datasets. At least three years experience of SAS programming is essential, including expertise in writing macros, and in running statistical analyses such as GLM, logistic and Cox regressions. The appointee will work closely with a senior statistician as well as with clinical epidemiologists.
The appointment will be for three years in the first instance.
