Statistical Assessor c£40k - Vauxhall, London
Higher salary to be offered to exceptional candidates
We're MHRA (the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) - we enhance and safeguard public health by ensuring that medicines and medical devices work and are acceptably safe. No product is risk-free, but your scientific judgement, and input to UK and European advisory committees, will help determine those products which have a favourable profile of benefits and risks.
Working within our Licensing Division, you'll be using your expertise to review clinical trials supporting drug licensing applications. It's far more than a typical number crunching role and you won't be stuck working on the development programme for years. You'll assess applications in all therapeutic areas and for all classes of medicinal product including potentially life-saving treatments. You'll also advise companies on how to improve their drug development programmes. In these respects, this is an entirely unique environment. Nowhere else would your skills have such an important part to play in pharmaceutical development. Nowhere else would you have the opportunity to gain such insight into the drug development process. But don't be fazed by this, as we have outstanding support and training to ensure you're ready.
An MSc or PhD in statistics or a relevant discipline will be essential. And, you may already have experience in a similar position within the pharmaceuticals industry or an academic background. Through this, you'll be well versed in the design, analysis and interpretation of clinical trials. You will have strong critical appraisal and communication skills, along with the proven ability to work on and manage a number of concurrent projects.
In return, we offer an excellent benefits package that includes flexible working hours, 30-days holiday, non-contributory pension and a season ticket loan.
The successful candidate can expect regular salary increases through MHRA's structured programme for continuous professional development and through performance appraisal.
