It is not so much that accountability is unfashionable, it is, except
for the DoH bringing us to account, as preventing individuals from
accepting credit for what they do and produce. Fascinating that as the
technology for ubiquitous tracking of credit and authorship spreads, the
DoH and NHS management is noticeably reducing the identifiability and
audit trail of what they put out. The choose and book book is another
instance, with no editor or proof reader to chafe about the location of
the Tyne in Devon, or the 62 marks on the map of 63 hospitals.
I recall picking out inconsistencies of the previous edition here, I
suppose I should look to see if they have magically healed (without
attribution of course).
The actual editorial glitch is a fencepost error of course.
