I think it might still be worth investigating, andI will do so when I have

So firstly, there's probably an option to do things mostly sliently, which
I could activate.
However, ideally Analysis could be modified so this sort of situation
should be avoided in the first place. If the user is copying assignments
across to a chain that already has assignments, then there ought to be an
option to merge resonances that relate to the same atoms (and have
similar shifts).
