Thanks for this Peter,
I have now explored the idea of restricted access to the latest newsletter issue with the ever helpful Jill Martin at CILIP and it could easily be put on the passworded section of the website. Slight problem with our associate members (5) who would not have access.
Best wishes
John

Many thanks to John for a very clear, concise and constructive statement with such a positive proposal. I hope that he won't mind if I reply to the list as well as to him.
Fellow members might be interested to see the very successful electronic newsletter, in .pdf format and which can be readily printed, of the sister organisation, the Museums and Galleries History Group, at www.mghg.org The first issue is accessible by anyone; later issues are in the members' section of the site. The MGHG is a standalone organisation, and not subject to the constitution or rules of any parent body. Members are notified by email of the appearance of each issue of the Newsletter, and it is up to them (OK, to us, since I am a member of the MGHG too) to log on and view it. Even as a CILIP Group, the LIHG might usefully look at this as a possible model.
I would be very happy to receive or to view future issues of the LIHG Newsletter in an electronic format.
Happy New Year to all.
Peter
