Dear all,
This is to clarify how the funding for the recently announced OVID
e-journals deal has been calculated:
The total cost of the deal is £67,150 (plus VAT)
OVID subtract from this the following two figures:
1. Current paper subs £31,353
2. Current e-subs £12,647 (note - this figure is being re-checked by OVID as
we think it's higher)
This leaves a total cost to the north west of £23,150 plus VAT
We don't get the VAT back - so we have to find £27,201.
On the table so far is £8,600 from the three patches. This is based on what
managers have been able to find up to the end of March 2007. Your patch
leads (Steve, Andrew and Kieran) will be in contact with you shortly about
whether any funding might be available in April
This leaves HCLU to find £17,096, unless more becomes available from you.
I hope this helps to clarify the current situation.
David
