Hi - we're about to finish compiling FSL3.3 (hopefully including
FSLView) for Solaris, however our Sun has just mostly died, and was
hopelessly slow anyway. Hence to move forward on this, we need two
things from any Solaris FSL would-be-users out there before we can do
this:
1. We don't have a good feel for which hardware and flavour of
Solaris will keep the greatest number of people happy. We would very
much rather NOT have to produce more than one set of binaries for
Solaris as it's such a pain to have to keep releases and patches up
to date on multiple platforms. Hence - please send feedback ASAP
about what hardware and Solaris version would be best - not just what
do you have, but what would run on your system.
2. Once the above is decided, we will need an account on an example
machine, to do the compiles on - so we'd be grateful if someone could
offer this (or just send us a machine ;-)
Obviously, if we can sort all the above out satisfactorily, then
future versions of FSL can be released for Solaris at the same time
as all the other platforms, hopefully.
Cheers, Steve.
