Basic Qualifications
BSc (Hons) (or equivalent) in computer science, mathematics, or similar
scientific/numerate subject, with related experience in programming within
the Pharmaceutical, CRO or medical environment. Strong SAS® skills are
essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in playing a key role on programming efforts for major clinical
trials and/or submissions. Demonstrated capability in areas of complex
problem solving through use of initiative, programming excellence and
effective communication within multi-disciplinary teams.

Research and Development at UK and US sites. We currently have a vacancy
at our Harlow site for a Programmer Analyst to join our Cardiovascular and
Metabolic (CVM) group.
As a key member of a global team you will be working alongside medical
statisticians and other programmer analysts and directly interacting with
clinical, regulatory, and data management groups within GSK. The role’s
immediate focus will be on performing and co-ordinating analysis and
reporting activities for multiple phase II-IV clinical trials. Towards the
end of the year the focus will shift to planning the reporting efforts for
several large Clinical Outcomes trials.
The successful candidate should have proven ability in using SAS to report
complex clinical trials both independently and as part of a cross-
functional team, be a strong problem-solver and have leadership qualities
necessary to operate successfully within a multi-disciplinary team.
