Hi Mireille,
> I am researching with children about sound perception. The children are about 11 years old. To preprocess the data a EPI template for adults is been used. I am not sure if the template is oversized for children and I am not sure if the images will distorted after preprocessing. Do I run the risk to interprete my data in the wrong way if I don´t use a Children template?
The short answer is yes, there will be an influence from using adult
templates on pediatric data. We looked into this effect a while ago and
even came up with a solution, pediatric templates that were designed to
be used in spm99. Depending on the number of children you use, the kind
of data you have, the software version you use and the ammount of
personal and processing time you are willing to invest, you can
disregard the effect, use our templates (from www.irc.cchmc.org) or make
your own. Your choice :)
Best,
Marko
