We use it for backups of our Vision database to two workstations within
the practice so that we have standalone copies we can run in the event
of power or land-line failures, and occasionally to my own laptop so
that I have a copy at home I can try things out on. The laptop copies
are encrypted using Truecrypt, for increased security in the event of theft.
I set the same up for another practice locally so that they have a
laptop backup copy to take on visits to a local care home.
I recommend a local XCOPY on the server first, assuming you have the
disc space, and then Cobian backup from there, to avoid tying up the
main database during other processes.
