SRA ANNUAL CONFERENCE: CALL FOR PAPERS
“Learning from others: Innovations in Social Research”

Tuesday 4th December 2007, Brunei Gallery, SOAS, University of London

Social research is continuously changing and developing, and this year the
SRA annual conference will provide an opportunity to reflect upon and
consider developments that have taken place throughout social research
during the last few years. The SRA therefore welcomes abstracts for
presentations for both plenary (40 minutes) and workshop sessions (30
minutes) that address the overall conference theme or discuss, explore or
reflect the following:

· Innovations in the development of research design and strategy

· Innovative ways of procuring or commissioning research

· New methods or techniques for undertaking research or exploring or
interpreting data
(including mixed method, participatory techniques, or other innovative
approaches for undertaking research; and new interpretative tools, data
linking, the use of E-Science, new IT or other methods for exploring or
interpreting data)

· Developments in connecting research to policy development

· New methods of disseminating research to reach wider audiences

Papers that explore the issue of researching innovation in social research
are also welcome.

The SRA is looking for informative and innovative presentations from social
researchers across national and local government, academia, and the
independent, commercial and voluntary sectors. Papers that may involve a
participatory element with conference attendees are particularly welcomed.

To be considered for either a workshop or plenary presentation, please send
your abstract (500 words maximum, which should include a description of
your research methodology - if appropriate) along with:
- your name
- affiliation
- contact details (including e-mail address)
- paper or presentation title
- details about which theme you feel the abstract reflects (if appropriate)

conference and pay a reduced delegate fee. Co-presenters will also be
required to register and pay a reduced fee. More details about the
conference will be announced by the SRA in due course.
