Research Assistant/Fellow in Statistical Epidemiology
Biostatistics Unit
Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics
Leeds Institute of Genetics, Health and Therapeutics (LIGHT)
Faculty of Medicine and Health

This post is available immediately for a fixed term of 3 years and offers an
opportunity to research aspects of statistical modelling of observational
data. The work will be conducted as part of the ongoing focus of the
Biostatistics Unit to develop methods for the evaluation of complex data in
the context of observational studies. Research will explore the role of
various statistical modelling methods for cross-sectional and longitudinal
data: functional data analysis and latent variable modelling methods, such
as longitudinal latent class analysis and structural equation modelling.
Methods will be evaluated for simulated and real data, the latter made
available within the Centre/ Institute. With a minimum first degree in
mathematics/statistics, you will also have computational skills,
specifically in a range of statistical software packages such as R, Stata,
LISREL, M-Plus. An existing publication record is desirable for Research
Assistant, and essential for Research Fellow as well as a PhD. You will
preferably have experience in the mathematical/statistical modelling of
large and complex biomedical observational data.

Job ref 314106.

University Grade 6 (£21,682 - £25,889 p.a.) or 7 (£26,666 - £31,840 p.a.)
depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
