Subject: Job opportunity: Population projections by ethnic group
Apologies for cross- and inappropriate postings
Research Fellow/Research Assistant, School of Geography
Fixed Term from January 2008 for 21 months (Full-time)
We wish to appoint a Research Fellow/Assistant to a new ESRC funded research
project (RES-163-25-0032) under the UPTAP Programme. The project aims to
forecast the population of ethnic groups across the UK at local authority
level, assessing the impact of migration from home and abroad on future
populations under different scenarios. You should have well developed skills
in modelling, computer programming and statistical analysis and an ability
to document your work clearly and comprehensively. The project offers an
exciting opportunity to contribute quantitative demographic evidence to the
ongoing debate about the impact of migration on the UK’s population and the
way in which the ethnic mix of the populations of local areas is changing.
