I do not know what a generic connection speed between sites. They is a
broad spectrum of site speed with effects of The end site network
configuration to be taken into account. As an example. Lancaster to
Manchester has a potential of up to 1Gbps when considering local end
network and MAN provisioning for our clusters; but get between 600-800
Mbps per second when considering shared traffic flows. Of course this
is within the UK from two institutes which are relatively close
together. By EGEE sites, are you mainly concerned about UK EGEE sites?
Mark Leese or Robin Tasker at Daresbury Lab may have better answers
for international grid sites and nore in depth knowledge of general
network connections.
