The AST problems should be fixed now. The main trunk of the CVS repository
holds the continually changing "cutting-edge" starlink system. Bugs do
crop up obviously, but they usually get fixed pretty quick once they have
been identified.
SMURF builds OK for me with the main trunk of the CVS tree.
