medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Please find attached details of a forthcoming free workshop to be hosted by
the Centre for Antiquity and the Middle Ages, University of Southampton on
22 January 2007, entitled:-
'Labels that stick: early medieval people and objects and the problem of
description’
The workshop will explore and debate the way we (historians, archaeologists,
museum specialists, art historians) ascribe labels to early medieval peoples
and objects how these affect the way we view and interpret the past.
Keynote speaker, Professor Bonnie Effros (SUNY, Binghamton).
