I have been informed of a case involving two young women (who were minors when
they filed for protection) who are seeking asylum in USA primarily on the
grounds of forced marriage, honor killings. The government here has asserted
that the parents' due process rights trump the asylum seeker's confidentiality
rights in the asylum proceeding and want to contact parents to give them an
opportunity to respond to the asylum claim. Any ideas/guidance or experts who
would be good to connect with on this issue?
