a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor in the areas of
GIS/Geovisualization and spatial statistics/econometrics/modeling. The
substantive area is open, but we are especially interested in receiving
applications from individuals whose interests intersect with one or more areas
of specialization within the Department. We are seeking an energetic scholar
interested in working within a dynamic interdisciplinary environment. Specific
technical expertise in geovisualization and statistics is required as part of
the successful candidate's contributions to the University's new Graduate
Interdisciplinary Program (GIDP) in Statistics. The appointee will be expected
to teach courses and direct graduate students in Geography and Regional
Development and in the Statistics GIDP. The tenure home for this position is
Geography and Regional Development. The Department is housed within the College
of Social and Behavioral Sciences and is noted for interdisciplinary research
with faculty in natural and social sciences. The successful candidate will be
able to work with diverse students and colleagues, and has experience with a
