Howdy!
I passed along the notice from this maillist
about the Leverhulme Trust grant (their Ceremony
& Ritual research programme) to a friend of mine
who's a cultural anthropologist, and she's
knocking together a proposal.
The project we've got in mind would look at
immigrant communities in industrialized nations,
especially their experiences with health &
healthcare access, within the context of
participation in ayahuasca-based religions.
Basically, how Santo Daime or Unao do Vegetal
membership affects community health and
healthcare.
Ideally, what we'd like to make this a _totally
killer_ proposal, rather than a merely
interesting one, is a team member who's
published/well-recognized in a pertinent area and
who's based in Britain, since that's where the
Trust is (and where I know a couple religious
practitioners). My cultural anthropologist friend
is a dual British-US citizen who has some kind of
involvement with Oxford, but who's basically a
Florida-based teacher & researcher.
Anyone know anyone who'd be interested?
Drop me a line, and I can do some introducing!
