It would be interesting to see what research is out there regarding
Islamic "witches" or cunning persons...seems to me that every faith
has some kind of shamanic traditions...Christians have energetic
healing done by the Christ (laying on of hands)...anointing with oil
for healing, the incantation for driving out evil spirits "In the name
of Jesus Christ, come out of her/him!".. and there are some
Appalachian cunning folk who use the Psalms even today for healing,
driving out the "evil eye" etc.
It is interesting to know that Thelema is a Christian secret
society...then there are the Masons, the Shriners...some very eminent
folk in US history have belonged at least, to the Masons...
