Surely it depends on the service picture after such reconfiguration
the assumption seems to be that the units leflt will be MIUs in the
current mould rather than the units we are increasingly seeing where the
consultant led, 24/7/365 medically staffed 'emergency department' does
not receive ambulance borne trauam or resuscitation cases and is not
longer obliged to provide majax, flying squad and trauma team ...
