This discussion gives me the opportunity to praise the work of a former
student of mine, Katherine O. Acheson (her thesis was on Lady Anne
Clifford), whose web site "Research Skills for English Students" surely
ought to be known to all of us -- see
http://www.arts.uwaterloo.ca/%7Erses/RSEShome.html Kathy is Associate
Professor at the University of Waterloo, not far from Toronto, and
director of Grad Studies in English there. Like all of Kathy's work the
web site is at once welcoming and tough-minded. It's designed for
undergrads, but there are some grad students who would learn a lot from
it as well. I think Kathy's development of this web site is terrific,
and I hope you will as well. Merry Christmas to all, Germaine.
