Dear Everyone,
Some good news from BERA HQ: in the Mentoring & Coaching SIG we had to abandon Part 2 of our
'06 symposium because teacher participants would have had to pay the full BERA rate for one day:
Dear Sarah
This is an ongoing cause of great angst for all concerned we do know.
In response, the conference committee last year introduced the day
conference rate for the Saturday at a cost of £60 (from memory the letter is
just about to go out) and will, if at all possible, try to arrange that
teachers presenting can do so on that day. We have also introduced, in
the last 3 years, teacher bursaries of up to £200 to offset the cost of
supply cover for attendance to present. Aside from that the answer is
I'm afraid no, certainly not for 2007.
I hope you are well
Best wishes
Olwen
